The GAIA Restoration Project:
Babes supports the premise that the greater connection we have with ourselves and the places we live in and recreate in, the greater appreciation and understanding we can have for the needs of the planet and caring for all of its parts. To offer avenues to deepen our recreational experiences, we have created the Gaia Restoration Project, a division of Babes in the Backcountry (Empower, LLC). It is the mission of GPR to create opportunities for connection with the Earth/Gaia to inspire us into conscious intentional harmonious action that support our life systems.
GPR Goal:
It is the goal of GPR to bravely venture into the mental, emotional and spiritual unknown places as we have the wild places on earth – and to become environmental stewards of the earth.
GRP retreats combine the four key elements:

Building skills (physical)

Indigenous teachings (spiritual/historical perspective)

Conscious Transformation (mental and emotional)

Service Project(give back/connect with the land and local peoples)
Result:
To bring about a net positive environmental impact for Gaia.

Lake Tahoe:
We are currently working with the Washoe Elders to bring a greater understanding of the history of the lake to those who currently live and recreate in/on/around this body of water.
Mexico/Costa Rica:
Providing support through goods and services to assist in their sustainable livelihood.
